Laner, the Firewire-USB cable ends in a dock connector, so it won't connect to your 2nd generation iPod, which uses a simple Firewire connector. Your best bet is a 6-pin PCI Firewire card, available for about the price of a large pizza. Check Compusa, Virgin, Best Buy, or Frys.
