speakers?

I am considering buying an ipod soon, but only when I can get decent sound from speakers (I don't have a stereo system where I live right now and want to use ipod+speaker as my home sound system).

I learned that I probably want to rip my cd collection as 192 kbps AAC.

What good speakers do you recommend?

Thanks, but I am not looking for a low-level portable system. It needs to have at least seperate speakers and adjustable bass/treble.

Sounds good. I will see if I can listen to them in a store somewhere. Too bad though that they have different versions for 120V and 230V, since I will probably go back to Europe in a year or so...
