2003 Mazda Protege 5 hook-up

I am looking for advice on how to play my iPod in my 2003 Mazda Protege 5. It has a manufacturer installed CD player with no line-in.

I am looking for a wired solution rather than going with the iTrip which I understand has many technical limitations and poor sound quality.

I have done a search and found no relevent info for my vehicle.

Any help is appreciated.
