I've never had to use these things before, since I've always played my music through a reciver and some nice JBL speakers. But my reciver, an elderly machine, crapped out yesterday and I had to pull the Apple Pro Speakers out of the mothballs. They definitely suffice in a pinch, but man they sound awful. I wonder if this is why Apple thinks 128k AACs sound "CD-quality" - perhpas they're playing their songs on Apple Pro Speakers? These things make CDs sound like mp3s...
