I had posted a mint 30GB third-generation iPod along with some optional accessories for sale on these forums and was hit with about 1/2-dozen interested parties within 24 hours. Being fair, I decided that I would handle it on a first come, first serve basis, and consistent with my seemingly endless bad luck, the first respondent was a person by the name of Randall White.
Randall expressed much interest in buying everything I had included in the deal, but asked if I would be willing to wait a week or so for him to come up with the money (he claimed that he was expecting it to come in the mail within the week, from various sources). Against my better judgement I decided to trust his word and give him the extra time - I mean, we've all been in situations where we came across a good deal but didn't have the money at the time, so I though I'd help him out. He said he would send out a cashier's check as soon as the last of the checks arrived - PayPal and credit card were not an option he said. Well, a week came and went, and Randall said he didn't have all the money, but it should be any day now....
You can clearly see where this is headed  . I'd replied to the other interested people explaining that I was going to offer it to the first person who'd replied (Randall White), and they all said they understood and would now look elsewhere. Well, this was all about a month ago, and Randall's last email, when he no doubt could sense my frustration in our emails back and forth, he stated that the check was sent out and I should see it any time. NO CHECK ever showed up, and ever since that time (the past three weeks) I've not been able to solicit a reply to my emails asking what was going on.
So, after giving this guy all the opportunities in the world he violoated my trust and turned out to be nothing more than deceptive the entire time. I will again be posting my items on these forums, but I wanted to make sure that I posted this information so that others would be aware of this particular person's history. What really irks me is that one of the people who initially replied said he'd take it right away, even offering to transfer the funds via PayPal upon getting my account information :( . Hopefully this person is still looking ....
Regards,
Jason
