View Full Version : iPod linked to another library?

I don't know what happened, but this morning I started up iTunes in order to listen to a song on my hard drive. However, there were no songs listed in my library!

A little frustrated, I added the folder that contains my music again. I was upset that I had lost all my ratings and playlists, but hoped that if I plugged my iPod in, the ratings from the iPod would cross over.

Anyway, I plugged my iPod in and got this messagE:

"The iPod is linked to another iTunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all existing songs on this iPod with those from the library?"

I don't know why this is happening-- I checked the folder of my library in the preferences and it is the same place it has been since I first got iTunes-- the partition of my hard drive where my music is stored.

Anyway, is there any way around this? And, if not, is there any way to grab the playlists and ratings from the iPod (not using iTunes, obviously)?

You could put it on manual mode and drag and drop any files you want to add to you iPod.
