I use MMJB with my windows iPod. After a transfer of songs from my computer to the iPod, I go to Browse>Songs and the songs are no longer alphabetized and I don't know why. I didn't do anything different from the other times I've ransferred songs. Anyone else have a similar problem? How do I solve this? Please help. Thanks in advance.

Anyone have any ideas??
You will find that the songs are in order by album, not alphabetically.

Um, Chris is that really the case? I know it's the case when you browse Aritist>Album, but the original poster said Browse>Songs. On mine they are alphabetical.
Or is this a dreaded feature of the new ipods.?

Yep, I'm talking about the Browse>Songs. I have an old iPod version 2.0 though.

Once again you are right--I misread the original post, and thought he was going through "albums" to get to songs...If you go directly to songs under "browse" they should be alphabetical.
Not sure how you've got an old ipod with version 2.0 though--2.0 isn't supported on the old ipods--the last "legitimate" download for the old ipods is 1.2.6, although some people have been able to get 1.3 downloaded circuitiosly (it will be available for winpods soon from Apple).
Double check your firmware--not sure how you would be able to get 2.0 to work with an old ipod. Go into your first menu, click on "about", and check which firmware you have...

I didn't do anything different from the other times I've transferred songs. Weird! Well... I've no particularly bright ideas, but if I'm using an app that starts giving me dodgy behaviour, I uninstall it and reinstall it. If I'm still not getting what I'm looking for, I find an alternative! I recommend Ephpod; free and quite reliable. :)
I have an old iPod version 2.0I suspect he means that the iPod itself is "version 2.0" - he's not talking about the firmware version.
PS. One simple workaround would be to create a .m3u playlist sorted by track name (you can do that in Winamp by dragging in all your songs) and send that to the iPod; then just navigate through that playlist on the 'Pod, rather than Browse > Songs.

I don't understand that....
My first idea was that the songs may have leading spaces or something. But after fooling around with my iPod (2nd Generation, Firmware 1.2.6) if found out, that it even ignores leading spaces and brackets when sorting the songs.
uniqueseraph have you probably used various software to transfer songs (like sometimes MMJB and then XPlay) ?

I'm pretty sure..If I did, what could I have tagged wrong that would cause this?
