View Full Version : when was usb 2.0 introduced

how would i be able to find out if my computer has usb 2.0 ports rather than the old ones. It has 4 usb ports and i got it when windows xp first came out in the uk, i dont know the exact date.
2001 maybe!!??????
any help appreciates, i went ont he manufactures website ( packard bell), but it just said usb ports!! alot of use.

just to clarify then , only usb 2.0 ports are capable of carrying power.

AFAIK, both versions of USB carry power. However, neither supplies enough juice to recharge the iPod batteries, thus the need for Apple's special USB cable which includes a firewire "pigtail" which you plug into the AC adapter so you can recharge the iPod.
