(i posted this seperate from another post on this topic because it seemed slightly different)
I have a mini that I've had for about a month. XP laptop w/o a USB 2.0 port, so I have been using USB 1.1 w/o problems while I waited for my 6-4pin firewire adapter to arrive.
Well, the adapter came. I plug in the ipod to firewire, my computer recognizes the ipod, iTunes launches, the ipod displays "do not disconnect" for a while, but the ipod never shows up in my iTunes and I therefore can't sync.
Actually...the very first time I connected it showed up, but hasn't since. ....hmmmm, scratch that, as I typed this i tried it one more time and now it works. ? To get it to work, after the ipod said ok to disconnect i unplugged it and replugged it in w/ iTunes already running and this time it took. go figure.
So my problem is intermittent firewire connections! I'll have to work on this one to figure it out....
anyone else notice this?
