I'm sure somebody posted this question already so please forgive me because I can't find it.

I have a windows Ipod that I want to share on my mac - not overwriting the files on either. Is this possible?? Both machines are at diffrent locations and it would be nice to have all the songs in one place. Any suggestions?

When I hook it up to my mac now it just erased all the songs I put on from my pc.

it erases your songs from the iPod when you plug it in to the Mac because you have it set to auto-update. turn on the Manual updating setting, and next time you plug it into your Mac you will be able to save them to your Mac with one of the programs designed to do this. I am not sure which one is best, someone else can reccomend which app to use

I cant find the software either.
We have three Ipoders at work, two mac and one PC. We are trying to share our songs but cant seem to get the songs from the Winnie IPod to Itunes on the Mac.
Can someone tell me which program will do this?

I use a shareware program called PodWorks (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/10273) which is by far the best. Registration is only $8. I read over in iPod Mac forum that someone was using this software copy music between his Mac and his Windows XP laptop. There are freeware alternatives to PodWorks but I don't know if they work with Windows formated iPods.
