Ever since I got my new 15GB iPod, I have been taking advantage of the on-the-go playlist feature to create playlists for my workouts. I'm sure others have done the same. How about sharing what tunes you listen to while working out? Here's mine from today.

Workout: 30 minutes on treadmill

Tunes:
Calm Like A Bomb (Rage Against The Machine)
My Iron Lung (Radiohead)
Living Dead Girl (Rob Zombie)
Lyric (ZWAN)
Circles (Soul Coughing)
Feather (God Street Wine)
Blind Man In The Dark (Gov't Mule, live version from Deep End Vol 1)

This may be a stupid idea for a thread. If so, I guess it can just die a slow, quiet death.

It's not a stupid idea. I'm too lazy to workout these days but your choices are cool - right noe I'm into rob zombie, rob dougan, and others found on the matrix soundtrack since they really have a great rocking groove.

This thread looks like it belongs in either Music explorations or General...

I bike onroad, does that count? Usually for 2-4 hours....

Start Off
1. Radiohead - How Do You
2. Ash - World Domination
3. The Streets - The Irony Of It All
4. Radiohead - Creep
5. The Streets - Don't Mug Yourself
6. - 17. Pink Floyd (Dark Side Of The Moon) - All
After that I usually choose "Rock" and put it on shuffle songs...

You're right about that one. :)

Let's see here. This is what I listen to:

Deftones
Finch
Linkin Park
Glassjaw
The Movielife

Pretty much anything Hard Rock. If you want to get a heart pumping workout, you have to take a listen to these bands.

Gotta say that Hot Water Music - Fuel for the Hate Game and HWM - Forever and Counting are GREAT when you're feeling weak and need that extra kick in the arse while working out. :)

What I would like to do is put together a workout playlist of songs at almost exactly the same tempo - really measure out the beats per minute. That way when I'm doing something like treadmill, I have a constant pace that will get me in the zone and maximize my workout.

Heh, listen to Kraftwerk's new album Tour de France soundtracks.. It's modelled after the bike races, and perfect for working out / etc.

If only there were more time for working out after I've worked, gone to school and done my homework..

I mostly listen to hard rock and some hip-hop. Linkin Park, Puddle of Mudd, Limp Bizkit, 50 Cent, some of Eminem's stuff... The hip-hop needs to have a good beat. Ludacris's "Roll Out" is a great example.

Darude - Sandstorm

I have a lengthy version of this track and it includes moments of slow tempo and periods of fast, high tempo beats. This is great for natural rest persiods when you are exercising. Although listening to the same song for 5+ minutes can be a little tedious.
