Earlier today I was browsing some other iPod forums and saw a thread on recording 128kbps vs. 192kbps. I was intrigued to see that one user had noted that when you record at 192kbps, it is possible when nearing your max (40 GB in my case) to transfer down to 128kbps. I went back to the other forums, and now for the life of me I cannot find it. Since I?m recording at 192 right now, I?m just wondering if this is true. Has anybody else heard this, and what exactly is the process to do so?

It's just reencoding your music! Go to itunes options, and importer, change options to 128 kbps and then right click the song, and choose "covnert selection to format"

I would suggest that 128 is less than good tho...and would recommend maybe moving some back to the pc, etc...to make room, as opposed to going to lower quality of yer music :)

I agree. 192kps is pretty damn good, and 160kps isn't that bad, but I really won't go near one at 128kps, since the music just doesn't seem to sound that great. Don't know how to describe it, but it losses some of it's brightness and life.
I agree that it is time to take some of that unused music off of your iPod.
