Question about Brasso???

I have heard about this Brasso thing, and I had a few questions about it.

1) Does it work on the iPod mini?
2) It's only $3, how do I know it will work?
3) Even if it does remove scratches, will it mess up the color of the case (of the mini)?

This only for the iPod though. Our cases are anondized aluminum. I know brasso will make anything chrome shine like there is no tomorrow, but I am not sure about the scratches.
