exo2 and charging

I purchased my 15gb ipod on friday and just ordered an exo2 today. My question is can I charge the ipod while it is in the exo2? I know that apple says don't charge the ipod while it is in a case, but does anyone here charge with their ipod in the case? I really don't want to constantly be removing my ipod from the case and then putting it back in. Just wondering if anyone has any horror stories or recommendations. Thanks!

physically you can charge it no problem... it wont fit in the dock but you can just use the 30 pin to 6 pin firewire cable. read up on the case when you get it though.... they might tell you to take it out while charging for heat disipation reasons.

Yeah. I understand that I can't use the dock which is ok since I didn't buy the dock anyways. I was just wondering about the heat and if anyone has had problems leaving the exo2 on while charging or uploading music.

The only time that mine gets appreciably hot is when a lot of songs is transferred (ie. 1000+) to the iPod. Keeping the skin on while charging should be fine otherwise.

id hope you didnt buy a dock..... the 3g ipods come with em.

Mine didn't? I just bought the 15gb one from compusa with the 2 year technology assurance plan. It just came with the firewire cable and charger.

whata rip.... i got the firewire cable, dock, headphones, ac wall charger, and a little headphone pouch deally... im probably forgetting something but you get the jist.... i got my ipod as a gift... i think it was from the apple store but i dont see why that would matter.. hmmm

according to the apple website the mini & the 15gb DOESN'T come with the dock, its an optional accessory, the 20GB, and the 40GB do.

as for leaving the iskin exo(Lajo)on, i have never had a problem with syncing, or charging with the iskin exo(Lajo) on, the whole in the back dissapate the heat.

well they must have changed things around cuz i have the 15gb 3rd gen and it came with a dock in the box.

re: the docks

it used to be that the low-end ipod was the 10gig, then 15, then 20 and 15 and 20 came with dock while 10 did not. Later, it was 10,15,30 same situation, but after apple introduced the 40gig, they made the 15gig the lower end model (making it 15,30,40) so 15giggers now do NOT come with a dock, but used to when they were the middle model so to speak. hope that helps,

I charge my ipod in the dock with its case on if u pop the plastic top cover off the dock it just sits nicely in the steel craddle underneath ;)
