I have no clue whether this is appreciated or not, but I find this very helpful at times, and above all it prevents further cluttering on the boards of semi-pointless posts (kind of a paradox since an off-topic forumboard is hardly ever relevant). By combining it all into one single post, people can dump their stuff in a thread which can be regarded by anyone who wishes to see it.

I'm paranoid as hell since I have no clue how much longer it'd take for my pod to arrive. the applestore told me it's shipped out of Luxemburg again, april 1st, and I should think it's going through customs first.. that'll take a buttload of time. Even though I live only 300 kms away from Luxemburg. The guys shoulda called me, and I could've picked it up myself. Meh! :/

I just installed my iPod as an alarm clock. I took two old speakers and plugged them in the line-out of the pod, and installed them at my bed. I'm currently assembling a wakeup-list as well as a slumberlist for when I'm gonna sleep. Hot damn I love my new toy. :cool:

oh one thing. Can someone think of something clever so that the wakeup volume is going to be louder than the slumber volume?

well i use mine for a morning and evening alarm as well other then on monday when i didnt wake up since it didnt go off i love it!!!!


my suggestion for the volume if you want the morning playlist to be louder and as long as it not the same songs as in the evening jsut in itunes adjust the volume control setting for all the songs in that playlist....

for evening playlist(if you want it quieter select the certain playlist>ctrl a>ctrl i>lower volume adjustment to desired amount and set the ipod to what you wnat and do the same for the wakeup playlist ....just make sure both are the volume you need or there may be some problems at 10 am that next morning!!

The weather in Edmonton is horrible. For the last couple of weeks it has been getting warmer and warmer, as Canada comes out of its winter season. The snow was all gone and green grass was starting to grow. It was a nice spring. Then all of a sudden i wake up today to SNOW!!! I was shocked. It so wet, cold and dreary today. I guess that winter just couldn't release us from its icy cold grip.

And i had some fun today. I was bored earler so i decided to respond to some of my junk e-mail. I told the writers that i thought it was a scam to fund terrorists and that i have no proof that whatever they're selling is the real deal. I sent the same letter to all of them, and actually got an appology letter from somone. LOL!
They said they didn't mean to bother me and will remove me from their mailing list.

Aside from the weather, today was a good day.

:D I wanna rant and rave today. I purchased 2 512 Gigs of RAM and installed them on my computer to help my DSL run better. The DSL has been shutting down my computer and restarting it. The tech support person said it was because I needed more RAM available, about 80%, for the DSL to run better. I had 512 before and now I have 1.50G (2 x 256 and 2 x 512) of RAM installed. I've been sitting here on line to test my computer performance and it still shut down and rebooted. I'm a little ticked off now. I shut the DSL box down and unplugged it and plugged it back in, it was one of the trouble shooting suggestions, so now I testing to see if this helps any.

I'm wondering, if I change the DSL box to something more current would that work better. I'd be willing to buy my own box just to get this to work right.

Sounds like a compatibility issue between your DSL box and your PC. I have NO idea what to tell you beyond that. The RAM probably had little to do with it....

You know what Baggss, I was thinking the same thing about the compatibility issue. I called Verizon to send the DSL box back and he said after troublshooting that it was the RAM. I purchased 2 x 512 plus the 2 x 256 I already had should have been enough.

The DSL box I have is one that is no longer manufactured by the company and not supported by them either. I went to their website to see if there were some updated drivers to help and they just refer you to the company that sent you the box because they don't support it. So it's old and outdated.

I tried shutting it down and turning it on again after about 45 seconds, as recommended by their online help section, so far it didn't shut down again. So I have to finish testing it out tomorrow. If it still happens I guess I will cancel the service. Their charging me $32.95 a month for this. I like the speed because it is faster than the dial-up service I had before, especially with the downloads but it's causing problems with my computer.

Then when I came upstairs and turned on my laptop, it shut down on me and the screen turned blue and gave me an error message about new software or hardware installed causing a problem. It did that about 3 times, so I unhooked the adapter for the wireless system and got to my desktop and uninstalled the security software I had downloaded and installed earlier. Now it is working fine. I guess it was one of the 2 I had downloaded. I tried to use a firewall and the Zone Alarm but my laptop wasn't having it. Guess I'll stick with Norton since it works with no problem on my laptop.

Aaah. Feels good to rant and rave sometimes. :D

Upgraded my RAM but haven't had a chance to put my HD in as of yet. Called AOL yesterday and the idiot I spoke to was trying to sell me an AOL upgrade to Braodband instead of fixing my problem. I told the idiot that I don't need an upgrade if I have no use of AOL. It does not play nice with the DSL software at all. But then again the DSL also comes with free MSN. It's the two are having a big war inside my computer.

Anyway I ended up hanging up on the AOL Tech Expert (and I do use that term losely). So I called another number to cancel the service but the guy was nice when I told him what had happened and offered me the month for free since it ends on 6/26/04. He said to let someone else help me try and fix the problem. OK. I get connected and the guy says hello and we are cut off. Great.
So far I was having a wonderful day.

I will have to call again to try and solve the problem or just cancel and continue to use Internet Explorer and MSN.

I had my first bad eBay experience. Well not awful. I won an auction for a Monster iCable and paid the same day with paypal. I recieved an e-mail notice saying it shipped USPS on 11/5. Well 2 weeks later, no iCable. I tried to e-mail the business, and my e-mails were undeliverable. So after trying a few times, I e-mailed eBay for advise. I didn't know you could request contact info in these circumstances. So I called. The employee was very apologetic, and offered a refund before I could ask for one. It turns out they forgot to ship it after sending the shipping request to the USPS, and sold it in their store. So they refunded me, because replacements wern't due for weeks.

So, I lost nothing, except a long distance phone call, and I got my iCable from Apple the day after Thanksgiving. They were very nice to me. So, should I flame these guys on the feedback? Coming from a sales environment, I understand how this could happen, or they could be politely not telling the truth to cover up a screw up, though I doubt it because they have a feedback score over 99%.

Someone jumped in front of one of my trains again =( Well not my train specifically, the one before mine, so mine was horribly stagnating and delaying. I missed my connection to my bus home and thanks to Mr I-can't-take-it-anymore who didn't want to take it anymore somewhere where he can't bother other people for the rest of the day (with all due respect), I now officially did 2 hours over a twenty minute route. Lovely, now I haven't got proper time to wrap up my project which is due Fridays, so I have two options, improvise or shoot myself. In other news, classical music is the music tagger's nightmare. Artwork for albums never show up because there are zillions of albums which are called EXACTLY the same save the orchestra, the album title itself is a braintwister, and in the artist field I always have to change the name of the orchestra into the name of the composer. And the song names are all "un poco adante" and "intermezzo" and "allegro agitato". THESE ARE NOT THE SONG NAMES PEOPLE! These are "suggestions" for the performer how to play the music (fast or slowpaced, dramatic etc).

What's even worse when you have a compilation CD with various artists: you _know_ you have a good piece of music but you have no idea who it's by again or what it's called since 70% of your classical music titles look the same anyway.


One solution I've found though as for the album artwork, I've decided to go with old pictures of the performers.

She isn't exactly an enemy haa haa its just what we call her.. she has basically hurt us over and over again. She has been the cause of every break up i ve had in 4 years and hurt several of my guy friends. The guy that went with me has similer issues with her and she doesn't understand why we can't all be friends.. her mom was at her house and is aparently a very angry woman! it was her 18th birthday party, everyone who went ( about 10 people) were in on us coming and helped us pull it off.

I have a financial management test tomorrow about chapters six through twelve-- however, I failed the first test which were chapters one through five. I was like "o damn how am I ever gonna pass the second test when I couldn't pass the first?" but I reviewed the mistakes I made in the last test (which were the accountant basics), and then decided to have a stab at the chapters six through twelve.


Turned out chapters six through twelve are theory about how to make accountant decisions -- practically organisational management, which is EXACTLY what I know and like.
