Howdy,

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but the ipod can't handle any impact shock. I've dropped my ipod twice, once it fell out of my pocket (90cm drop) and the other time i tripped down the stairs and it fell out of my hand (2m drop). Both times the Ipod hard drive got damaged, the small drop meant that every now and then the ipod hard drive would skip on songs, the big drop meant that the ipod became inoperable. Luckly under waranty i got it replaced but i don't want this to happen again.

Are there any cases that will seriously protect the ipod from shock? I've seen a latex/rubber type case that apple makes but i don't think that that would be enough to save it from a drop.

Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

I've dropped my ipod at least three times. Each time I was sitting in a chair and it slid out of my lap. Anyway, your best bet is to get the Matias iPod Armor.

It sorta stops the iPod from being as functional, however you can always use a remote with the case or just open up the cases door.

I strongly recommend that you use both a DLO Jam Jacket and a Booq nappa case. That's what I have and it provides great protection. I was hurrying through a parking lot several months ago when I dropped my iPod (shudder and gasp) and it bounced several times on the concrete before coming to a stop. I was just positive that I had ruined it forever but it was fine - not a scratch or a dent anywhere and it worked just fine. That's been several months ago and my 30 gig iPod still works flawlessly. I am sure that the fall would have damaged the iPod beyond repair if I had used only one case.
