I just recieved the iPod Home connestion kit from Griffin in the mail. It's a cord with a stereo mini-jack that plugs into the iPod and RCA cables to plug into my stereo. It works, but there's aproblem with the volume. I turned it up to max on both the stereo and iPod and I was barely able to hear it. What's the problem? Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I figured out what the problem was. My stereo is very unintutive when it comes to connecting devices to it. Interestingly enough I had to turn of my stereo to hear it play!?

I have my iPod connected to the stereo through an adaptor that splits the headphones into 2 RCA jacks (picked it up at radio shack).

It sounds HORRIBLE. Very bass and muddy. I have tried it in all the jacs - AUX/TV/CD/PHONO, etc.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Get the iPod stereo connection kit (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/70902/wo/va1LCxMMArha2Qeg68D1tKjqXyV/1.3.0.5.10)

Or just the audio cables if you have the dock already and use the line out on the dock.

Don't get the stereo connection kit, salduza. You only need the headphone-to-RCA cable, which you already have. Have you tried using the line out with the dock? It should give you slightly better quality, however I wouldn't think it would be such a dramatic difference. If you do use the headphone jack, though, you'll have to turn the iPod's volume to max. (Volume makes no difference when using the line out.)

So I'm not sure what's going on, really. Have you tried it in a different stereo?

Makes a major difference using the line out and using the headphone jack.
But do it however you like. Sound quality is always subjective anyway.

That could definitely be it then. You might want to post this in the General forum and see if anyone there has any tips for connecting 1G iPods.
