My main music files are on my home desktop (windows XP) and I used this to install everything. I then hooked up the ipod to my laptop (windows 2000), set it to manual update and everything was cool - downloaded my work calendar and contacts - no problem. Both systems are set to recognize the iPod as a drive and both have iTunes 4.2.0.72
But now when I reconnect to my desktop I get this weird message "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod's software".
Needless to say I don't want to do this everytime!
Any suggestions folks?
