Hello iLounge. I have a problem with my iPhone 3G's battery that just started about a week ago.

It eats battery power tons faster than usual. If I fully charge my iPhone and leave it sitting over night, the battery will have brained by at least half, if not more. I have made sure Wi-Fi is off. My phone is jailbroken. I heard that jailbreaking makes the battery power drain faster, but my phone has been jailbroken since I got it about 2 months ago and I have had no issues until last week when the battery started draining. This is very inconvenient and irritating, as I have to charge it every night so it will last through the day. Does someone know what is going on here?

Did you install any new apps in the last couple of weeks? If so, I would remove them to see how that changes the battery life.

This may be a pain, but I would also try and restore the iPhone. If that solves the problem, then you'll know jailbreaking somehow played a role in the fiasco. If not, you'll be able to take it from there.

that sux.. I really hope on the next iPhone they have a removable back cover... but looking at their current line and where they're going, looks like its not going to happen

Well, I rebooted the iPhone one day and the battery problem went away. I don't know what happened but..I'll keep my fingers crossed that the problem will stay away. :)

Sounds good. Glad you've gotten it sorted out (for now). :)

You probably had one of your apps running in the background and draining your power. One of the few issues with jailbreaking.

I just purchased the new iPhone 3GS on Saturday and last night I fully charged it once the battery completely drained.

I have only watched 1 podcast only once as of this morning and left the phone on my desk without using it. It is now 12:30 and the battery is currently at 82% ???? This is the new iPhone that supposed to have better battery life and it seems like it has worse, what gives? Is this normal?
Is the battery supposed to keep draining this quickly even when you don't use it?
