iPhone not swithching OFF !!

I have an iPhone 2G v3.0.1, when i press the on/off switch the iPhone get ready to switch off but just after the screen OFF the iPhone get on right after !!

I have :
1. Check switch
2. Restore NORMAL MODE/ DFU / RESTORE mode!

I dont know where to go MORE!

Any help is welcome!!

You normally turn the iPhone off by holding down the sleep button and sliding the slider (duh!) that shows up on the screen. You do that and the iPhone still comes right back up?

Have you tried holding down both the sleep button and the home button until the iPhone shuts off (force shutdown)?
