Doesn't seem to recognize my mini...

I selected that I had an ipod but is it possible that because mine is a mini, audible manager does not recognize it? If this is the case, what would be the easiest way for me o get an audible book onto my ipod?

Do you have iTunes installed? If so, you need to use it instead of AudibleManager to transfer to the iPod.

Once you install iTunes, it overrides AudibleManager as the transfer application for the iPod.

So all you need to do is import the Audible file into iTunes and then transfer to iPod with iTunes.
