Hi all :)

Sorry to hijack this thread but I thought it was better than starting a new thread! I've got a dock next to my computer at work where I plan to leave my iPhone (3GS) charging when I don't need to use it, but will it cause a problem to keep putting it on and taking it off charge? I realise Lithium cells don't suffer the memory effect nearly as badly as other battery technologies, but will this sort of topping-up cause problems over time?

Many thanks for your thoughts!

Cheers,

David :)

PS. I too am a little disappointed with the battery life, but am happy to put up with it as it's such an awesome device!! :D

David, don't charge your iPhone for more than the required hours, because even lithium cells loose their life time as their charge cycle increases. One charge cycle is the time from which you charge you cell ( when they are totally dried out) and you use them and the again become totally dried out.

And finally please don't charge your iphone when you have half charge. Put it to charge only when you get the low battery warning, Ok. If you charge it this way you can increase the life of your iphone's lithium battery.
