how do they compare the the EX-71's?? The price of the Koss earbuds kind of turns me off (only 13.00) and I'm wondering if they're a quality product despite the price. Any comments on these earphones, or should I just go with the EX-71's?

You get what you pay for. Go for the EX71.

Yeah, there have been endless mods for the The Plug but the consensus is that no matter how much you mod them, they'll still suck. If I were you, I'd check out that new Sharp 4-pole.

They are working for me, however no experience with the EX 71's or the sharp 4 pole.

They are not that good. If you want to try a pair, I have one to sell - $10 shipped.

I tried them too, and don't use them. I really like the stock earbuds, but also use the in earbuds of phillips that Target sells for $20. I had the EX71's and sold them on ebay. I could not get any good volume out of them.

i had a pair of the plugs, and didn't mind them too much--they were better than the apple buds and did a good job of blocking out the noise. they were so #### uncomfortable though. I bought a pair of the ex71's and was absolutely blown away by the difference. i'd spend the extra 30 and get the sony's.

i know you've already decided but just in case you change your mind in the last few seconds of your ordering, definately go for the sony's... i had the plugs, modded the hell outta them, trying out many different kinds of earplugs, and no matter what they are just way too uncomfortable... when you get a seal, they act like suction cups in your ears and put pressure on your eardrums... so painful, and loud (crinkling)!! even with a good seal, its almost impossible to get them to sit ~just right~ to get the full bass and treble from them, and even then they are they just dont sound nearly as good as the sony's.. man, when i first put the ex71 in my ears, i couldnt believe how easy they were to put in and get a seal, and the comfort was incredible... needless to say, you're gonna like em.. :)
