Ok so here is the issue....i upgraded my 1st gen iPhone to the 3.0 version OS last week...however after updating, my Phone has been experiencing tons of issues (shortened battery life, email doesn't sync, won't engage the autolock function, etc.)....I took it to the apple store and they said that I needed to do a restore of the phone and set it up as a brand new phone...however, if i do this, i will lose all previously saved data, including all my text messages
i tried doing some searching for 3rd party apps that will let me backup my text messages, but the only one i was able to find was called syphone...i tried installing it and using it, but i was not able to get it to work (the homepage of the product said that some people with iphone OS 2.0 or higher were unable to use the software)
Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on how I could backup my text messages to my macbook (running leopard)...ideally i would like to be able to backup the messages to my computer and then transfer them back to the phone after i restore it, but i realize that may not be possible....any suggestions would be helpful.
thanks!
KK
