Anyone else get a white screen when turning on their 3Gs?

The two times I have let my iphone die from having no battery power left, I seem to have some trouble getting the 3gs back up and running. I plug it into the wall to charge, but unlike my ipods, there is no battery symbol or anything, just a black screen(is this the case for iphones?) Then it goes to a white screen for a while after I click power. The second time it did this the white screen lasted a long time before I could use it, even though it was plugged into the wall for about 20min. Eventually after some fiddling around, it starts back up normally. Anyone else get this?

If any phone is left to completely die then even when plugged into the wall they take a lil while (5 mins max) to get enuff juice in 'em to power up. Nuffing to worry about mate. Most phone or whateva do this.

^yup, but I personally never seen a white screen
