when i use the "ipod" on my phone , songs seem to play for about 5 -10 seconds, then i hear "dedily- dit " ( tone) and it skips to the next song, this continues ad infinitum......... and ad nausium. any ideas? aNDY :-(

May be your music file is damaged? Have you tried playing it on your PC?

I've seen this on older iPods too. You probably need to restore the iPhone and then add all your music back. This is what worked on the Gen 2, Gen 3 and Gen 5 iPods I've had this happen on.

It sounds to me like you have "Shake to Shuffle" turned on. Go to Settings / iPod and set "Shake To Shuffle" to OFF and see if the problem goes away.
