Does the iphone really do Push?

Sorry to be a bother, but I got my first Iphone (the 16g 3GS) yesterday.

I am a long time BB user - but I was looking for something more fun.

As far as I can tell I am set up for Push email. I have an enterprise data plan. I have all the right options set. Yet, emails do not come automatically.

Maybe 1 comes after a restart - after that, they come when you open email.

So,

1. anyone else having issues like this?

2. how fast should an email show up on the iphone? (compared to a BB)?

to set push
go to settings-->mail-->fetch-->"on"

I just got off with Apple. This phone is not pushing either in exchange or yahoo.
