I have an iphone 3G and had no problems syncing on my Mac (which only has 1.1 USB ports) before, but after upgrading to 3.0 iTunes doesn't recognize my iphone anymore?
Any advice?

I think you need to upgrade your iTunes version, the same problem happened to me and then I installed latest version of iTunes and the problem resolved. How evrr you can also try to change your iphone accessory cable because some times the thin wire lines in the cable dock got connected to each other and stops working properly.
