Can I buy iPhone 3GS @ full price with no contract?

Is there any way I can buy the iPhone 3GS at the full price with no contract? If so, how? I tried doing so on Apple.com but was not able to find out how to do that.

I bought mine from ATT at a discount. If I decide it isn't worth it, I'll just pay the termination fee. You can also go right to apple as well but you can't use cash with them! Get out your credit card!

You can get brand new unlocked ones in Hong kong, Singapore & China also. But I don't get one thing if apple is ready to give unlocked iphones officially in Australia, then why don't they give it elsewhere & satisfy their customers.

Thanks. Yeah I did some more research and I guess there are quite a lot of these questionable sites. I lost my 3G 16GB, too many beers. I really dont want to sign a contract with att to get the 3GS plus I might be going out of the country for an extended period of time so I would really like a factory unlocked phone so I can do updates and not worry about locking it and so I can put any carriers sim in it where ever I may be.
