3G S Compass issues

My compass started not registering north. It has me off by at least 45*. Has anyone else had this issue with their new 3GS?

Yes. I noticed it too. Web I use it with Gps and aiming it the direction I'm heading it shows that it's at about a 45 degree from the direction of travel. I haven't figured out why because it was thar important. Just thought of it as am annoyance. My biggest problem is battery life. Apple sending me a new 3gs so I hope it fixes it.

An electronic compass has a calibration routine. My Garmin GPS has you set that up before trying to use the compass. Maybe look up compass setup / calibration.
