I have a new iphone and was wondering if there is a way to check the current connection used when browsing ( wifi or the cellular network). I have wireless access points deployed but I don't know which network is being used when i use safari. I usually disable by cellular network when using my wifi just to make sure that I am not charged. My problem here is I can't receive any calls and MMS. Is there a setting to force my safari to use my wifi- connection? I just want to make sure that when I browse, I am not using the cellular network.

If you look to the right of "ATT" it will show what you are using. Your cellular minutes are not used for data. Data is unlimited. I don't think you can shut off the cellular network, also Safari is always forced to use wifi if available, unless you turn wifi off.

So, wifi-connection is the default for safari, maps, and other apps that needs to connect to the internet? If no wifi connection is present, then it uses the cellular network for it to connect to the internet? Is there a way that user is to be prompted/ ask a password before it uses the cellular network for it to connect to the internet?

Yes, your prompt is to the right of the ATT sign. If it doesn't have the wifi indicator then you are using the cellular network.
No, but seriously, there is not a sound or alarm to notify you of that.
Like I said, the data is unlimited, unless maybe if you are unlocked and using a different network.
I'm only speaking for ATT
