Can you have AAC and MP3 on the same ipod?

Or will I have to convert my mp3s over to aac?

I have an ipod coming soon and if i need to rerip my cd collection, I'm gonna feel very overwhelmed.

I have a small collection of .aac songs (Thanks Pepsi!) and I don't really mind ripping new cds into .aac. I just don't want to rerip existing stuff. Yes I know about sound quality issues, I don't care. :)

Yeah, don't worry about it.

The CD ripping is a pain in the butt, but that's why I'd recommend you start NOW in iTunes, which is what I did. That way, when you get your iPod, you can just hook up the firewire and all your music will be there in a matter of minutes.
