OK I live in Canada and prefer to not order over the internet, but I'm looking for a pair of nosie cancelling headphones in they 50-150 dollar price range.

The Sennheiser PXC250 are around US$150. They're probably your best bet. The Sony NC-11 earbuds are noise cancelling, too, but if you're going to go with earbuds, you might as well get a set of canalphones, which will will be more isolating than the active cancellation phones.
I think if you look you'll probably find some cheaper noise cancelling headphones (I think even Macally makes a set) but I'd be suspicious about their quality.
