i really want one but am not sure whether apple with release a new one this year. please tell me. i mainly want it for jailbreaking. what should i do

A new one will probably be released around September, right around the new school season. If you're looking to jailbreak, I don't know how long it'll take them to break the 3.0 software.

i would say yeh cos its a great piece of kit... although dont know if the new ipod will be released any time soon... camera yey!

I had an uncle who would not buy a color TV when they first came out in 1960. He wanted to wait until they perfected them. He died watching a black and white TV 15 years later. Of course Apple will come out with a new one in the fall for the Christmas buying season. If you want one, buy it and enjoy it. Why would you want to jailbreak an iPod Touch? It's not like the iPhone which is tied to AT&T in the United States.

Themes, emulators, things like that
Personally I don't think it's worth it, especially after 3.0
