Hi, new member here. I recently bought a Griffin One-touch control, plugged it into the AUX port on my Toyota Rav4. There is a high pitched squeal that comes through on the music playback, and it varies in pitch as I accelerate.
Any ideas? I can still return the unit for another if your experiences here show that there's a better model out there.
Thanks,
Laken

Hi there - I had exactly the same problem only with a harmon kardon - gave me nothing but jip, ended up selling it and investing in a proper stereo.
Best move I made!

It sounds like the device you are using (not your iPod) is getting interfered with by your car's engine. This is a sign that the product isn't properly shielded from outside signal influences (these interferences are electrical). There really isn't anything you can do other than trying different products that offer charging and an auxiliary output. Additionally, try using as short of an auxiliary cable as possible. You may end up having to purchase a new CD deck. You could also try purchasing an iPod integration kit for your car. It will use connections on the back of your car's CD deck and they often have a heavily shielded cable going to your iPod. Best Buy sells them for around $30-$40.

Kornchild is good on his explanation. Something with your ignition system or the cars computer is radiating out ito the iPod or the connection cable. Ever see those ferrite "donuts" on cables - often they come with plasma TVs. You might find them at Radio Shack, though I rather doubt it. They can arrest the flow of radiated sound thru the cable. Its worth a try. It may be your specific car showing a problem, and it may be the RAV4.
good luck

RadioShack has these (http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=ferrite%20choke&origkw=Ferrite%20Choke&sr=1) and they may help. Usually the cause of this is from bad grounding often from using by using the 12volt lighter socket on cars. Make sure the lighter socket in the car is tight and has a good ground.
