Just got my newest copy of macaddict in the mail, and on the front page it said "Reviewed! apple in-ear headphones p.47", so i checked it out right away, seeing as i really like these headphones and wanted to know what macaddict thought, however the review was a quarter of a page...:

In-Ear Headphones
Ill-fitting Ipod Earbuds
"They sure look cool, but when these tiny earbuds ae snugly seated inside your ear canals, the sound is only marginally better-somewhat clearer bass and suppressed ambient noise-than that of the iPod's stock earbuds. The uncomfortable little buggers also tend to slowly work their way out of your ear canals- and we tried all three of the different-size soft-plastic earpiece covers that apple includes in the box.
Your $40 will be better spent on over-the-ear headphones."

In my experience, compared to the stock 'buds, these are worlds better in sound, and they do slide out of your ear, but they didn't mention alternative better fitting inear buds or places where you could find better fitting caps or anything, and these things got a "so-so"(2 outta 5) rating. If this got a "so-so", then the stock buds would definitely get a one or a zero out of five. I would have at least given them 3 out of 5.

No offense, but have you heard any decent headphones?
I have not heard those earbuds, but in their defense, it is possible that they would sound better if they fit the wearer correctly. Also, I would give the OEM a 1/5 if their price was FREE (they do sell without an iPod), otherwise a 0/5

It should also be noted that most magazines aren't the best at audio reviews

I have the in-ears also. I'm not sure if this is the right way to wear them, but they sound great when I wear them upside down. I don't care what others say, but I like them and they suit me well. Actually , I can't find any other in-ear headphones in our city, and I can't afford Ety's. :)

Despite having Shure, Ety, and Grado phones, I don't think I'd give the stock iPod buds a 0/5 or a 1/5. They're easily the best freebie buds I've heard, and for a non-audiophile, I think they produce really good sound.

It's really one of those cases where you don't know what you're missing until you know what you're missing.
