Okay my iPod Touch has an alarm that rings at 5:40am everyday, then again at 6am, then 6:25am, then again at 6:45am. However, after it rang at 5:40am today, it did not ring again, I woke up at around 6:40am and realized that I could not find my iPod. I sleep on the top bunk of a bunk bed, so I thought it probably is still on the bed or it fell into the bottom bunk. Anyways, I ate breakfast, got ready for my day, when I decided to just find it so it wouldn't bug me thoughout the day, I looked and looked and found it in the fish tank. I quickly dried it and placed it outside to dry. Now it's around 3:30pm and I placed it in a bowl of rice to suck up any remaining water. What else can I do? Is there a chance it will work again?

There is a chance, just don't turn it on for a long while. Leave it in the rice for at least a week to be 100% sure. It might work after sitting in the bag of rice, or it may not. Just be patient.

Well the rice absorbs the moisture, helping dry out the insides of the iPod, or any wet gadget. Works well for cell phones too.

were talking uncooked rice right??? because cooked rice wont really do you any good... dont turn it on is right...

your ipod should be fine... it wasnt a salt water fish tank was it? because salt water mucks up everything...

Yes uncooked rice, I'd even put some uncooked rice and some of those moister packets you get from video cards and such in a zip lock bag.

your ipod should be fine... the next suggestion is one based on purely evil intent... sell it and buy a new one before it craps out on you... evil, yes, i know... just looking out for ya...

i hope you dont take me too seriously, and i hope i dont get flamed for this...

If I were to press the button, would that mean that it would mess up the system and the chances of it working again would be slim? A similar thing happened a friend's friend, but she ended up pushing buttons and now she can't figure out if it's on or off.

simply put the problem is if the water shorts something or corrodes the connections (this happens but it takes time) on the board of the ipod... thats the reason you turn the device off asap so that no current is flowing on the device... then you try to get as much moisture out of the device by various methods, rice bowl, hair dryer (be careful with this technique because it can fry your device), hanging it so as to let all the moisture go out the port or any other opening on your device... and your device has got to be off... cant stress that enough... and leave it off for a good week... this is overkill but i'd rather be safe... so try this...

bury ipod in uncooked rice vertically (hoping the moisture escapes through the bottom and doesnt pool inside your case), not in a plastic bag but a big bowl so that the moisture can escape to the open air unless you live in a place thats uber-humid... or it rains inside your house...

hope i was of some help...

not in a plastic bag.
I was mostly refering to that if you were using those moisture packets

If you were to turn your iPod on and there was water between say the power short and maybe the processor, the signal would jump and damage the processor, this is only one example of what happens all over the circuits.

i know what you meant, and i actually liked that idea... but i, long ago, made the mistake of putting it in a plastic bag of rice, it still worked but the bowl method (at least in my mind) works better...

gotta be careful though there are some of those packets that don't really eat up moisture, rather, they eat up oxygen... i know you made sure to not make that mistake once again i'm just saying this for the benefit of others...

~peace!:)
