I had itunes 8.1.1 on WinXP, I used my 60GB ipod video.
I got an iphone 3g.
The first time I connected it via the USB sync cable, it connected fine.
Since then (about a week), I have only been able to connect it and sync once. I bring up itunes, I plug the cord into the dock connector, the iphone vibrates twice, the battery icon has a lightning bolt for about two seconds, then it goes back to the half empty battery logo.
And now that I have tried it with the iphone, my ipod does the same thing--it
says Do not disconnect, then a minute later, OK to disconnect, no syncing has occurred. The ipod at least does charge, the iphone isn't even doing that except for twice.
I do have itunes.exe, ipodservice.exe, and ituneshelper.exe as active processed, and last night I deinstalled itunes, rebooted, then reinstalled it.
I have tried both USB ports (they are in my tower, not my keyboard), I have tried plugging in ipod/iphone then computer and vice versa, I have tried having itunes running and not running when connected.
Can anyone help? This is really annoying....the syncing problems and the oh-so-massive battery life (i got 4 Hours today! yay) are really taking the luster off this cool device.
