Hey everyone
Recently purchase an iTouch and I wnt to upload movie files that I have on my pc

However its in .avi format... and when I drag it onto iTunes nothing happens

What format should they be in?
Is there an easy way to convert avi to whatever the correct format is?

If I am doing something wrong let me know, I just assume its a format incompatability issue

thanks!

For free programs, I believe people here have been recommending handebrake, but I don't have any first hand experience with the program. I use 123COPYDVDGOLD, but you can purchase the iPod only program for like $20 at Staples. You just put your file in, tell it how small or big you want the quality to be, and hit okay. It seems to be the best program at getting movies at the smallest size, roughly 250mb per hour (I have 39 movies on my iPhone)

iPod video format is mp4. You can easily convert any video file to it, using special tools. I use mp4Mobile (http://www.videomobileconverter.com/mp4Mobile/), it does the job great and costs only 19$ :)
