View Full Version : What in the world are these called?

I seem to have a problem with all eartips except for these. They are silicone or rubber and fit in your ear. There is a tube that goes down the canal, and there is a little piece that fits under your anti helix.

The straight tubes always seem to fall out. If I get a larger size they hurt after about an hour. I have been searching for hours and can't seem to find what they are called. I'm guessing they just aren't that popular, but I really like them.

Sorry about the picture quality, my phone's camera isn't that great.

Thank you for any help you can give. :)

They appear to be custom molded.

Thank you :)

I FINALLY found them after a whole day of searching! They are made by Jabra for their cell phones and they are called eargels. They are patented, which is why you can't find them looking for the normal search terms for headphones. They do make replacement packs and they come in different colors, which is awesome because the clear ones turn yellow very fast. I ordered a pack yesterday.

you go see an audiologist & get impressions done of your ears. then you go to an IEM manufacturer & get them to put these on. they're molds of your own ears.

you can have fancy things done in the molding process like snazzy colours, printing etc..

There's multiple fits with Jabra, they aren't custom. My father has so many of these laying around from all his headsets, so I couldn't say which they were from, but Jabra sounds right

how much do they cost?http://photosnag.com/img/3322/n09x0302vnsn/clear.gif

I found them for 5.95 and free shipping on Ebay. That was for 3 pair, small medium and large.

the jabra things, i dunno. if i have trouble getting seal from medium tips like they're too small - keep having to 'wedge' them at an angle so they seal; large tips kind of distort slightly so seal is not great either. i can imagine these pre-made things would give me similar problems. foamies FTW!
