after listening to my ipod for like maybe an hour with it on hold and in my pocket it will turn off then wont turn back on.... is it dead? and if it is can i somehow save the battery? or is it something else entirely?:confused::o

Do you have every setting turned on, with say 15 minute fetch?
Unless you have your iPod plugged in for a week straight I doubt it's the problem, you may just need to do a good reset on the iPod since maybe something's causing a failure, I know sometimes an app' won't load right and instead of closing it'll reset my iPhone (but that has only happened twice, with the same app).
Look for a battery saving guide, such as turning off fetch and WiFi, and fully charge the iPod, reset it, then see how long it lasts.
