So currently I've got my car ghetto rigged for my iphone. I've got one of those classy GPS holders with a AUX wire connecting it for music, and I use a Jawbone for making/receiving calls. It works, and I enjoy it. It's a comfortable and safe way to operate my iphone as an ipod while I'm driving, and it's extremely convenient for long trips.

But now there's this whole Stereo bluetooth coming out in July, I'm curious as to if this will be the best solution anymore. Has anyone ever expiremented with in-dash receivers and how well they handle A2DP stereo and playing music? Is it even possible, or is it just used for phone calls?

If the rumour is true about A2DP, then it would work just as well as your current setup, wo the wire. Downside is, is gonna use up power.

Neat idea? I've been waiting for iPod with built-in A2DP since 2005.

Well then, it's about time for me to start looking into a new Head Unit!

Let me rephrase "just as well," as be precise, 97% as well. Like any radio, there will always be potential interference. I had a BT setup at home, an external BT attachment with my iPod and from time to time, there will be "hiccups." Not enough for me to stop using it, but if your perfectionist, hardwire always beat any wireless method as far as signal quality.

Well the wired method often gets in the way of my morning coffee, which is it's biggest downfall haha.
