i will make iPod Battery packs for $20+ what it costs me to ship them... they use 2 9v batteries and work great... they wont try to discharge your iPod like alot of homemade packs do when the battery pack voltage drops below the iPod battery voltage... these are packaged in Altoids type tins with firewire ports... all you do is plug your firewire cable into the top of the tin a you are good to go... $20 plus your choice of shipping... Fed-Ex with a tracking number runs me $14 and is about 3 days anywhere in the US... let me know...

Hey Brian, can you provide some pics of packs that you've already made? Thanks
What the crap? $14 for shipping? Sorry but that seem to be a rip-off. It doesn't cost that much to ship something so small in the US.

I'm pretty interested in this, but like the others requested, I'd need some pics of what it looks like before I'd buy one.

Actually, I was just trying to save people cash. I went and looked at fedex's shipping charts before I even posted and the only way it could have been even close to $14 is if he had shipped it 1st day air or 2nd day.
I simply called out what I saw as being unfair to buyers. Thats all.

can't you just ship it standard USPS padded envelope? those are hardly ever more than $5... i personally would most likely buy one if it wasn't for the shipping, and we had pictures.
btw, I wanted to let 3G iPod users know that the 2 9v + 2 AA battery charger doesn't work well with it. It works great for 1g and 2g chargers, but it skips in and out of charging with a 3G ipod. However, you might ask crackhead if he can make them as an 8x AA version. This works incredibly well (I've done it myself). You can get at least 30 hours out of this type of pack with fresh batteries. Now, I'm not saying he has the time to do it or will, but he might.
BTW, I'm not trying to take business away from you, Brian. I just wanted to let people know so they wouldn't be disappointed if they decided to buy and found out it didn't work as they expected. IMO, the 8X AA charger is easier. All you have to have is an 8x AA battery holder, one PP9 battery connector (versus the 3 for the 9v charger) and a FW plug or whatever. Hope that helps.

I'm sorry, but isn't that like calling dell and telling them no thanks you'll build your own computer for less? Of course you can, but sometimes you don't want make the effort.
If this guy sold these for any less it wouldn't be worth his trouble. Do you want him to sell them at cost? That's doesn't sound like a good business strategy.

Unfortunatly, not. That's the only problem. What i might end up doing is just finding a plastic box that it'll fit in, and then taking a piece of tin and hot gluing it to the plastic, and then cut a hole in both tin and plastic of the box that'll fit the firewire port and then soder it to the tin part.
