Can anyone explain why when connecting my IPOD to my laptop using a Firewire PCMCIA card, it drowns my Ipod Battery.
I understand that Firewire charges the ipod if using a MAC.
Am i doning anything wrong with my connection on my PC ????

The pcmcia will only charge your iPod if you have it connected to power. For example if you have a pcmcia with 2 firewire ports then one needs to be connected to your iPod and the other need to be connected to the power adapter that came with your iPod. This is what I do and it works great!!!

Thats cool guys and thanks for taking the time to reply but I can guarantee that my battery life is seriously less after I sync using PCMCIA.
Maybe I have a problem with the IPOD.

Well, what is your power source for the firewire card?
You said you were using a laptop right? So i assume you purchased a PCMCIA Card (something like Belkin or Adaptec) at some store and inserted that in your notebook. Now that doesn't mean that it will charge your iPod once you plug it in. You could get power from an external adaptor (if your card supports this). Otherwise the card will not supply power. Or you could use one port to connect to your AC adaptor.
