I dunno about headphones but as far as earbuds go, I love my V-Moda Vibes.
They're much louder and bass-ier than any earbud I've ever used. And the sound quality is excellent.

Hi. I have Bose OE for listening in the office. Shure E3c for quailty quiet listeing and I use Skullcandy Inked for the Gym and some normal everyday use. I go through a pair of the Skulls every few monts as the gym is tuff on them but the price makes them right. I can get them on sale a few times a year at FYI so I get 3 pair at a time.

Yeah - more detail needed.
For me it's the UE Metro.fi, but you might not like them or in fact they may not be robust enough for you.
Waht do YOU like in a headphone or earbud?

Westone UM1's, Ultrasone HFI2200, and Bose QC'2. I bought the ultrasone's to replace the bose set, but I still use them in loud areas. The ultrasone's sound quality is amazing but being an open back headphone everything just cuts through them. The Westone's are simply awesome, I definitely recommend them.

I use a set of Razr's and they seem to work pretty well. They are comfortable and affordable. Not to mention, they sound great too.

I would recommend shure earphones over v-moda and bose (i am talking about in ear models here, the over the ear bose Headphones are really good) I spent about 2-3 months doing research and comparisons, and i found bose to be the best. i have the SE110, but i would recommend the SE210 over it because it gives you a lot better tone for like $50 more, but the SE110's are really good too.

I love my Sony Active Style headphones (model # MDR-AS20J) They stay on better and the music is louder and clearer. I learned the words to many songs just b/c I could hear them better on the new headphones rather than the regular iPod ones. And they're not that expensive - 20 bucks.

I'd second the recommendation for the Shure series earphones.... However, the SE110's are definitely not worth it, but the new SE115's are actually very good earphones in their price range ($100), and are a much more reasonable alternative to the more expensive SE210's if you're budget conscious. In fact, we found the difference between the older SE110 and SE115 to be "night and day" when comparing the two, and the SE115's took a Best of Show award from us at Macworld Expo this year
I personally use the SE530's myself -- they can be fairly expensive but are well worth it if you can justify the purchase price. IMHO, however, the sweet spots in the Shure line are the SE210 and the SE530 models, with the SE115 now being a very good offering for somebody who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on earphones.

I use the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 EB and they're amazing when listening to techno, I love them compared to my Shure E3G.

If you keep breaking them (like me) then I would say buy decent cheapies the ones I tend to go for are the sennheiser cx300 or the cx500 whichever I can get at the time for cheap, decent sound quality in my opinion but obviously not as good as the ones that have been afore-mentioned but your paying alot more for those IMO

The key is to not break them, and enjoy the good quality, although people have different preferences.
I used to use just over the ear things, and the day I got my Shures, I never wanted to go back to non-IEM.
Upgrading to my Ultimate Ears EB just made me appreciate the higher quality ear buds even further, since they're amazing for Techno :D
Not sure how much further I could go for headphones though, since I don't listen to Lossless and FLAC files, not sure where the line goes when comparing audio file quality to headphone frequencies.

I dont have any lossless music on my iPods and I dont really need high quality earphones for that reason, so I use the stock buds and I dont mind that they are supposed to be garbage when it comes to sound quality.
Ive been considering an upgrade but after giving it some thought, that money was put towards something I needed more badly (like a new HD after my almost new Western Digital failed).

I use Skullcandy iCon/Recruit. They're entry level headphones but they are excellent and cost nothing. Theu come in several colours (mine are they colour they call mixed) and have interchangeable ear pieces and have fair to above average sound quality.
Also my sister got them for me for my birthday, so they cost me nothing. :D

I have now off-loaded my CX-300's and PX-100's to my nephews and nieces and replaced them with Shure SE210's and SCL3's. Very happy with my new toys, as are my nephews and nieces :)

I used SoundMagic PL-30 most of February, but I recently have just been using UE Super.fi 3. I got a pair of JBuds J2 and spent about 8 hours burning in, so I'll probably start using those for a bit.

Just ordered Sennheiser HD-595s from Amazon, but currently rocking Sennheiser PX40s, though my favorite pair thus far has been the Bose Around The Ear Head Phones. Hoping the HD595s do not disappoint.

With my portable devices: nowadays it's exclusively my Senn IE8 IEMs, though on occasion I'll still use an over-the-head Sennheiser PX-100. If I use an amp, I'll pull out my big rig, Sennheiser HD650 with SAA aftermarket cable, but mostly those are used directly with my home gear.
Yeah, seems that I'm kinda stuck on Senns...
If you got the money it's hard to go wrong with the IE8. Great bass, excellent detail and soundstage...makes my Shure SE530 set sound like the has-beens that they are.

Recently got a old Sony MDR-E424 earphones from a thrift store for free-these were released in 1990 (19 years ago).
These sound very good-considering the age of the earphones.

I've had 3-4 pairs of cx 300's, thinking that they were bad each time and I hated them. For me, they were the worst earbuds that I bought and I ended up returning them and I bought them directly from Amazon and JR.
I'm not too sure why they get good reviews, but they sound awful.

CX-300' are not bad earphones for circa £25, in fact I was very happy with them until I bought my first pair of Shure earphones. You get what you pay for and the CX-300's are pretty unbeatable at the price that they sell for!

Well my CX-300 don't sound awful but I must agree that they're not the best earbuds I've owned. My previous Sony earphones were better and I thought that would be impossible because all my previous head/earphones from Sennheiser were top notch. As Dan said it's probably the price/quality balance. I'll get myself Sennheiser IE 8 earbuds. Slightly, erm, more expensive but probably 99% better!

I'm still using my Sony EX-71's that I got with my first iPod back in 2004. The only thing I've had to replace was an eartip after losing it on a trip and I've taken these ear phones everywhere. The key to longevity for any set of earphones is to take care of them and store them properly when not in use.

Right now, I have a pair of Sony Dynamic Stereo Headphones MDR-V150 [over the ear] and black Skullcandy TiTan earbuds [in ear] which are pretty good. Not the best, but they're alright. I'm upgrading to some Earpollution ThrowBax headphones [over the ear] or similar Panasonic RP-HTX7-K1 [over the ear] ones.

I don't like the in-ear style and over head design. I prefer the normal ipod earbud headphones (http://www.uxsight.com/category/112529/ipod-headphones-earbuds.html) for my music player.

I was quite surprised to find out that a cheap £9 pair of JVC "Gumi" headphones that were just supposed to be place-holders actually work really well and are surprisingly durable for a low price.
Obviously not for Audiophiles but they do the job if you're just a casual music listener like I am.

Apple In-Ear Headphones are fantastic. The sound compared to the previous version is a lot better. However, the remote on the right wire is weird when I get sweat on it, which is a lot when I run.
Does anyone recommend other in-ear headphones that work with the iPhone, and especially the newest shuffle?

Ok so i had the normal ipod headphones, the iphone ones, skullcandy rasta... broke them all :D... Pleeease tell me one good headphones.
I'm rally bad on headphone cords no matter how careful I try to be. I decided to go cordless with Bluetooth headphones. I settled on the Sony DR-BT21IK/B Wireless Transmitter and Bluetooth Headset for iPod. This has been a great combo. I mainly use the transmitter with my iPod Classic and sometimes with the iPhone 3G despite its new stereo BT capability. The audio lag with the BT transmitter is hardly noticeable unlike the BT audio lag with the iPhone's built-in BT. Plus, WiFi signal reception doesn't suffer either.
This is the first headset to last me 6 months. They are still going strong. I use them 2 to 10 hours a day, every day. The sound quality is very good.
Hope this helps,
Steven
