My current earbuds and past earbuds keep tearing on the cords. I tend to put stress on them and I'm in the process of looking for a solution.

I'd like to know what earbuds and headphones (I'm looking at both) there are that can stand some stress and sound clear with some noise cancellation. Price isn't really an issue. I'm looking for something that I can use for quite a while.

I realize this type of question is probably asked a lot. Any feedback you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

I don't know of any earphones/headphones that don't tear sooner or later, but I think that most of the Koss earphones/headphones still come with a lifetime warranty.

After 5 years with an iPod and portable caliber ear and headphones what I have learned is that they are all junk as far as durability goes. You can spend $10 or you can spend $200, but if you consistently use them on the go while moving about, bending down, catching the cord on handles, etc., the cord will fail.

My rule now is sticking to removable cables on higher ended stuff, killer replacement plans like Koss, or keeping the price around $20 or lower so I won't care that much when they inevitably short out within a year of usage.

My UltimateEars actually detatch the cable up near the earbuds, and I can buy a replacement cable for like $20 if I ever needed to. :D

Ultimate Ears sound good, from what I've read. What model do you recommend? I've also heard a lot about the Shure SE models. Are they any good?

Thanks for the help!

Go to their website, it'll give you recommendations depending on the music you focus on listening too, and budget

I recently tried out the Pioneer SE-CLX9 (http://www.warehouse123.com/ProductInfo.php?pid=PIOSECLX9-BLK). First, sound quality is never a problem for Pioneer audio products. From the buds to the cord, I found the whole units are very well built. Also, it comes with different of pads and tips for the adjustment! After some trial and error, they are now fitting in my ears perfectly!
