Ipod Touch WiFi Radio Problems

I have three apps for listening to different radio stations on my iPod Touch, AOL Radio, iHeartRadio and WunderRadio, my problem is that if I dock it to my JBL powered iPod speaker system it works fine and plays WiFi radio all day but when removed and listening with my ear buds plug in the radio station will stop playing after about a half hour and I have to go to the settings, click on the WiFi and restart the radio app for it to play again only to go off after about a half hour.

It’s almost as if the iPod Touch has some kind of WiFi cut off switch to save battery life, this does not happen if I’m listening to my music or podcast stored on my Touch. Any help would be appreciated.

YES mine does this also. Makes me crazy. Did you ever find a solution??
