i would like to see you be able to manage podcast subscriptions from the ipod!

even know itunes is like the "mother ship" to the ipod i think its horrible !!

syncing contacts is horrible with itunes,, it never worked 100% for me. but now that google has the "push" contacts and calender its perfect.

now if they would allow podcast subscriptions to be handled straight from the ipod that would be great..

even know itunes is the "mother ship" the goal to making the ipod touch work PERFECT is to not ever have to plug into itunes again!

So are we talking hardware or software?

There's so many software things they could improve with the current hardware:

Make the Music app rotate 180 degrees - I have to put my Touch in my shirt pocket upside down due to the location of the earphone socket, so why not let the music app rotate (like many other apps already do).

I have in-ear-phones with a button & mic, it would be really cool if, when I pause music with the button, it switched on the mic so I could hear properly without having to remove my buds.

The video app show the time remaining on movies & podcasts, so why not show the time remaining on TV shows as well?

How about an option in iTunes to re-arrange the app icons - it could show all 9 virtual screens at onc and let you drag icons around easily, it takes so long to get things sorted out on the Touch itself.

Currently, clicking the home button when you're already on a home screen takes you to the first screen - how about clicking the home button when already at screen one takes you to the last screen?

This one would get my vote as well as:

Support for compilations

The ability to turn automatic coverflow off for music (like the current Nanos can)

Shuffle albums

yes,, i dislike the cover flow very much ! when im driving and its on my lap, it changes to coverflow and i hate that

Being able to delete music and photos on the fly from the iPod itself.

Being able to disable cover flow and the accelorometer.

Landscape mode for mail, stock, weather and notes apps.

Being able to search for songs by just typing in the name instead of scrolling by album name or song or artist.

Dont know if this is possible but is possible with an older web app called tabulate. Which allows you to open new safari window on anything you want. So being able to click on a link and then say open in new window.

And ofcourse last but not least copy and paste and flash.

i would also love if copy and paste was introduced... but this could be in a new firmware couldnt it?

i love the idea of rearranging icons on itunes... i does take ages on the ipod esp. when you have alot of apps.

being able to put the apps icons into categores, like you can with a jailbroken one. but i heard this might be in the next firmware update...

i also hate when you click the home button and it takes you all the way home. it should be like other ipod models and be a "back" button

i would like to be able to have your own wallpaper... again like on a jailbreak. and also able to apply themes. (many of the things you can do on a JBed ipod are awesome.. ppl dont always do it to get cracked apps. maybe apple shoud look at what else comes with a JB that appeals to users)

being able to delete music like you can delete videos (on the fly) is a great idea...

like i mentioned earlier.. getting rid of the use of itunes all together is what the touch / iphone needs to do... the poor workings of itunes holds the device back

I would like to see the firmware give my enough battery life to watch 2 full length movies, surf on WiFi for 3hours, listen to 7 or 8 hours of music while playing games.

All in bright sunshine.

All on one charge.

Looks like everything is coming on 3.0 except for flash so far. But, ofcourse iPod touch users have to pay $10 again. I guess that was expected anyway.

what about being able to use the vol buttons as skip tracks ..ideal for the beach and not having to scratch the screen with sand..
