My biggest gripe with the Touch so far (otherwise, I LOVE IT!!)

Note: this problem soon to be fixed with an inline remote on a headphone I ordered, but until then, and unless I spend that extra money . . .

Now, unless I am doing something wrong, it seems that to pause I have to press at least three buttons. Once the iPod has gone black, you have to pull it out and look at it, press something to bring up the slider, then slide it, then press pause. With my 5G, I just . . . pressed pause.

Is there an easier way, I am a noob after all, and I could be griping for nothing. Thanks!

Double-click the home button this causes the iPod to wake and it will display "slide to unlock" BUT it will also display the audio controls (skip & pause). Note: Double click also brings up the audio controls when you're in the middle of using another app.

But, you're right, earphones with controls is the best solution.

Ah, that does help because, although it is still technically three clicks, the double click is pretty fast. So, thanks! Still a gripe, but compared with all the goodness, I am still very happy!
