his ad F/S: Cheap 1st,2nd,3rd gen IPODS (http://ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24160)

after the thread was closed i sent him an email to ask if there is any ipod left, i sent the email this morning around 3-5 am (i forgot)
my email:

i know the deal is off,.... no more available
in case, there is someone cancel their deal
just pls email me :)

thank you

i woke up at 12:30 pm
and ireceived his reply

i have a G3 20 GB that someone backed off on, if you can paypal me 195$
right now, and give me your address to send to ittll be yours

i quickly replied him for more confrimation on which paypal acc i shou;ld send the money to

just to confirm, its a 3g 20 gb new in box for $195
shipped ?
i will send the payment after ur confirmation
thanks
ans, what is ur paypal account ?

after a couple of hours he replied
YES IT is my address is r0csfinest4u@deathrowisback.com

i quickly sent $195 through my paypal to him, and i quickly emailed him to inform him that i already sent the money and inform him about my shipping adress, and this is was his reply

hey the paypal address you sent to i just figured out is in my dead
dads name so we have to get your money back to you (for me to possess
it i have to possess his credit card which is now useless)and you can
send it to another paypal account im makin in my name, I dont know much
about Paypal but can you figure out how to get your money back?

im not quite understand with his reply, im quite furious that time.
i sent him a couple of emails (maybe 4 of em) and he only reply one email, i told him that im going to file a claimed to paypal. i also told him the steps to send money, so he can send the money back to me.

no you see i cant get verified so i cant send you any money back,
file a claim and ill tell them what happened tell them what ive told you
and tell them to talk to me and no im not scamming just a mistake on my
part

i dont understand, is it his paypal account was in his dad's bank account and he can not withdraw the money, or
is it his account is limited, this happen to me last month. i have to fax my bank statement to paypal to confirm my bank account.

at first i was lil bit suspicious with him, he joined this forum on march, his paypal account was unverified and he joined paypal since march 2004 also. he said he got 10 ipod and it was all sold out. so im asking if there is anybody who have a deal, buy an ipod from him. please post ur feedback here.

i tried to be patience, i asked him questions, and he didnt cooperate very well. its like he just leave this problem all to me. it was his fault and he is not taking responsiblity of it. he told me to fix the problem myself.

im still waiting words from paypal. they said it should take at least 30 days.
FOR anybody who has done business with him, please post your experience with him.

as for r0csfinest4u, i want more clear explanation from you.
and i want u to post picture of ur ipod colection (u said u have 10 of them) just to prove it that u really have em.

thank you

You've been scammed unfortunately, hopefully paypal can help recover your loss. Good luck.

The guy tried to steal away business out of my thread and point it over to his. I would file a complaint with Paypal, his local police, the internet fraud divison, the fbi and call his house.

His story about owning all those Ipods is a joke as well. If you guys can file one big joint claim, it'll get heard.

so do you guys a victim too ? or u just get lucky not to fall into his trap ?
any of you have experience with scam?? how well paypal deal with this issue ?
currently paypal is still waiting for his respond, and i dont think he will response to it.

i already claimed it throught paypal, any suggestion on other action that i should take to get my money back ?

I didn't get scammed at all but in another interest of mine you really have to research not to get scammed and your story of emails is textbook scammer.

yeah its all my mistake, never had experience with this before. i look at his ebay feedback and it looks fine, and i see that a lot of ppl reply on his thread i thought it was a good sign. (didnt notice that most of them registered in march 2004)

One thing you can be sure of is that Paypal does not mess around when it comes to fraud. He won't be able to access money from that account until Paypal says it's ok. I'd like to believe Roc is legit, that's alot of ipods for alot of people if he is. Hopefully he'll respond and explain.

I hope everyone who sent money will respond and keep us informed of the progress of their deals and if they received their ipods.

By the way, I was one of those people who replied to his thread. My account says March only because my old one disappeared with the board crash.

Finally, Yuck, please keep updating this thread with your experiences.

If you paid by credit card, charge it back through the cc company. Paypal doesn't guarantee fund recovery, and they are not helpful most of the time with customer service.

If i was a "scammer" I would have got rid of the money as quick as I can.I hate when people jump to conclusions. The paypal account I was using was my fathers who died last year.Back last year you didnt have to have a credit card or bank account set up to send/withdrawal money. This year they do.It would be impossible to recieve the money since my fathers dead and he no longer has accounts in his name.IF you would have wanted to get the IPOD all you would have had to do was file the claim get the money back and send it to my new one that I made that was verified but sense you wanna call my name out Im not going to deal with you anymore. We could of resolved this by e-mail.I didnt leave this all up to you.I couldnt do nothing cause I cant SEND MONEY.I asked you to file a complaint and if they ask why tell them what I told you and Id speak to them too.Im sorry I ever dealt with you

your paypal account was created on Mar. 9, 2004.

anyway, r0csfinest4u just sent me a refund, its still on pending though. I am sorry if i accused you for scamming. you should have give me clearer explanation. i wanted to deal this through by EMAIL, but you weren't very supportive in my sense, you never reply (only twice) and your reply is not clear enough for me. the communication wasn't very good, for me your reply is very suspicious so i just wanted to make everybody else alerted.

as for everybody else, i edited my topic title from NEGATIVE into NEUTRAL. im not saying this guy is a bad seller, im not saying he is a good seller either.

Thank you

Looks like a case of miscommunication to me. From what I understand, he had quite a few pods he was selling, and I haven't heard any of the other buyers saying anything about getting scammed. Just this one case.

Well, many of the other posts were from very new members who only posted in that thread.

I'm looking for others who supposedly had deals pending to come forward and tell their story.
